Adapt Productivity and the team training we keep coming back to

Written by Ben Holt | Aug 24, 2026, 6:23:20 AM

Most productivity training fades within a fortnight. People come back to their desks, the inbox is still full, the meetings haven't stopped, and the new habits quietly disappear.

Adapt Productivity is the exception. We brought their Smart Work program into our annual team event last year, and the gains have stuck. We've signed them up again this year for the same reason.

What we noticed

Across the team, we've seen real changes:

  • Faster execution of tasks
  • Less time lost to a reactive inbox
  • Better communication between team members
  • Clearer daily priorities and less end-of-day overwhelm
  • More time on the work that actually matters

The system is simple, almost deceptively so. It's also genius, in that it works.

About the program

Smart Work is built on Dermot Crowley's best-selling book of the same name. The methodology rests on three pillars:

  • Centralise your actions. One trusted system instead of sticky notes, scattered lists, and an overflowing inbox. For most teams, that means making proper use of Outlook and OneNote.
  • Organise your inputs. Process email and other incoming work with intent, rather than reacting to whatever shouts loudest.
  • Plan for outcomes. Daily, weekly, and monthly rituals that protect time for the work that actually moves the business.

The training is highly practical. People apply the techniques live in their own tools, so by the end of the session the system is set up and ready to use.

Formats

Adapt offers a few delivery options to suit different team sizes and budgets:

  • Online Smart Work program, run as two 2-hour webinars about a week apart
  • Onsite Smart Work workshop, a three-quarter day in-person session
  • Masterclasses for larger groups, conferences, and offsites
  • Tailored versions for leadership teams, sales teams, project teams, and EAs

There's also a Smart Teams program for businesses that want to shift the email and meeting culture at a team level, not just at an individual level.

Who it suits

If your team relies heavily on Outlook and spends a lot of the day in email and meetings, this is for you. Managers, professional staff, sales teams, project managers, and EAs all tend to get strong results.

It's particularly worth considering if you're planning a team event or offsite. The training gives the day genuine business value, and the impact lasts well beyond it.
